Double Handed are currently rehearsing with new lead vocalist and hope to be back on the circuit in the next couple of months. 28/08/07 - the grand return of Double Handed

These past four months have absolutely flown by, and Shaun will be back in the east in a mere couple of weeks. To commemorate this prestigious event we have booked what will be a HUGE return show at the Jade Monkey on the 29th of September. So be sure to come along and share in the festivities - there's a stellar line-up, it's cheap and not to be missed! We also have our first ever shows in Mt. Gambier and Elizabeth so we're thoroughly looking forward to those.

So what have we been up to in the last four months? Certainly not laying dormant awaiting Shaun's return - we've been working hard on songs old and new as well as a new recording and I must say that this band is shaping up to be quite the monster indeed. We're all really excited about the way things are turning out and very proud of our work and the possibility to share it with others. We're unfathomably excited about Shaun's return and can't wait to continue with the future of our music. Seriously, it's going to be good.

So until next time, stay tuned and keep an eye on our MySpace page for updates and sneak peeks of the new recording (a currently-bassless clip of Dreams is on there now), and we'll see you at a show.

11/04/07 - See you in a few months...

Well as most people know, Shaun is now overseas playing to a bunch of Omanians for the next few months. Please wish him well on myspace. Until he returns in September, the rest of us will be continuing to demo material for the next EP so keep your eyes on the myspace site for new samples. Also go check out my side project, Delusions of Grandma, whenever possible.

Hey peoples, we haven't updated this site in a while since we basically use myspace for everything these days. If you want to keep up with all the DH news, myspace is the best place for it.
In the meantime, please come see us at one of the shows announced for March including next Saturday at Jive - can't wait to play with the Tony Font boys again!! See y'all soon

09/11/06 - Blah Blah Blah

Thank you to all the lovely people who made it down to Fowlers live on November 4th. That was our final big show for the year and what a show it was. I couldn't hear my voice over the voice of the crowd singing to 'Sit Still' at the end of the set.
The night was great and there were many great people sharing it with us.

Cam is out of here for three months, out of here being out of the COUNTRY.
I wish he and his girlfriend Sarah the best of luck on their trip.

Also if your itching for more, there will be some dates put up soon for some acoustic Double Handed shows with Jester and myself, perhaps a fox may make an appearance.

Once again, love to you all and see you from the big stages again next year!!!

Firstly, I think we can safely say the EP launch was a tremendous success. To everyone who helped out and all the fans who came along, it certainly would've been nothing without you so THANKYOU all very much, it means so much to see the support generated on Saturday. I'll post another blog in a moment with some pics (thanks to Beth, Bee, Jono and Spoz).

A few changes to the myspace page... I've just uploaded the completely mastered versions of The Sex plus the radio edits of Sit Still and Parks Without Trees (they may not appear until tomorrow but they shall be there!)
We have just finalised our last two shows before Cam leaves for Europe for three months. After the inaugural Fusion Festival 06 next Saturday we shall be returning to the Crown & Anchor Hotel on Friday, September 15th to play with Quiet Child. We haven't shared the stage with those boys for too long and absolutely can't wait. November 4th will be our final show before our 'summer break' and it's going to be a big one. Local Channel 31 based initiative Night Live will be hosting their fourth show in the Night Live Presents series at Fowlers Live on North Terrace. Returning with a new single will be headliners Snap to Zero, plus local heavyweights Soft White Machine, Double Handed and Tony Font Show. Make sure you put it in your calendars now!

Preproduction is already underway for our next EP which promises to show a completely different side of the band. If all goes to plan it should be released around May next year.

Double Handed are currently doing well in Triple J's Unearthed but the competition is heating up so please VOTE for us and pass the message on to everyone you know!

And finally (thankyou for getting to the end of this novel!), the online store should be up by next week where you will be able to purchase the EP, a tshirt, singlet, Therapist art anthology, badges or one of Foliage's original paintings. Will keep you all posted... Thanks for listening.
